Description:

Orbital Sidekick (OSK) is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to design and build machine learning infrastructure for a team of data and remote sensing scientists.
The role involves collaborating with the Analytics and Software teams to deliver data-driven products and solutions.
The Machine Learning Engineer will contribute to the full algorithm development process, from human annotation to platform integration.
Responsibilities include setting up machine learning infrastructure, optimizing resources for development and production in the cloud, and deploying models for batch and online inference.
The role will initially focus on establishing MLOps and will evolve into researching, developing, debugging, and deploying models using hyperspectral data.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 3+ years of postgraduate experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, with a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a similar field.
Proficiency in Python, Pytorch, Weights and Biases, ML Flow, DVC, Ray, Dask, and the data science stack is required.
Experience with deploying and monitoring models in cloud environments, specifically AWS, is necessary.
Candidates should be able to work independently and collaboratively in a startup environment.
Strong decision-making skills and ownership of system design are essential.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
