Description:
The Master Data Engineer at D.A. Davidson will work across multiple business areas to identify and model master data elements.
This role will contribute to the development of strategies, solutions, and processes for managing enterprise-wide data elements throughout the data lifecycle.
The Master Data initiative focuses on maximizing business outcomes by improving data quality, consistency, visibility, and accuracy.
The position involves close collaboration with business Subject Matter Experts, Information Product Owners, and IT team members to design and implement solutions for centralized master data.
As a member of the Data Operations team, the Master Data Engineer will work alongside Data Engineers, Analytic Engineers, Database Administrators, and Business Analysts.
The role includes assisting in the execution of a change management process and a governance model to ensure the accuracy and consistency of master data repository structures and metadata definitions.
The Master Data Engineer will also assist in evaluating technologies in support of a larger enterprise data architecture program.
Requirements:
Prior experience within the Wealth Management industry is helpful, including working with assets under management/administration, client households, custodian records, advisory programs, and master account records.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a related role such as Data Warehousing, Data Governance, Content Management, Data Modeling, or Data Architecture is required.
Experience modeling and implementing master data management processes with quantifiable improvements is necessary.
Current working knowledge of master data management industry best practices (e.g., DAMA/EDM) is essential.
Knowledge and experience in implementing and working with master data technologies are required.
Understanding of logical data modeling and data normalization is necessary.
Familiarity with meta-model and metadata management requirements is important.
The ability to contribute across roles and technologies when necessary is required.
Experience with PowerBI, SQL Report Services, Tableau, or other data reporting tools is helpful.
The candidate must be able to work in a team environment that promotes collaboration and follows Agile development methodologies.
Experience interpreting, modifying, and creating detailed business requirements and definitions related to master data management and data stewardship is necessary.

The potential base pay hiring range for this role is $123,000 to $185,000 annually, determined on a case-by-case basis considering various factors.
