Description:

ShipShape.vc is a UK-based tech company that assists startups in discovering and securing tailored funding opportunities.
They are looking for a highly skilled and motivated AI / ML Engineer for a 6-month contract.
The ideal candidate should be proficient in Python and have experience with modern AI (NLP) tools and workflows.
The role involves building and deploying scalable vector search solutions and working with large language models (LLMs) like Llama 3 in cloud environments.
Responsibilities include improving the recommendation engine for startups and processing structured startup data for end-users.
The engineer will install and fine-tune LLMs, develop custom workflows for text summarization and embeddings, and document workflows and best practices.

Requirements:

Candidates must possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Proven ability to design scalable and efficient solutions for complex AI/ML problems is essential.
Strong proficiency in NLP techniques is required.
Experience with vector databases, particularly Pinecone, is necessary.
Understanding of LLM architectures and the installation/configuration of models like Llama 3 is crucial.
Ability to fine-tune models for summarization, text generation, and embedding creation is needed.
A deep understanding of RAG pipelines and practical experience with PEFT methods for customizing LLMs is required.
Strong proficiency in Python, with experience in libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and PyTorch is mandatory.
Hands-on experience with Docker for development and deployment is essential.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for deploying ML workflows is necessary.
