Description:

Kong is seeking a seasoned, customer-facing Sales Engineer for the Central Region, specifically for remote work in the Toronto/Montreal areas.
The role involves driving new business, evangelizing the Kong technology, onboarding and training new customers, and establishing revenue potential with existing customers.
Candidates should have experience with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS/GCP/Azure, and should be excited about API and connectivity challenges.
Responsibilities include supporting field sales, understanding customer requirements, growing trusted client relationships, supporting Proof of Concepts (PoCs), ensuring customer satisfaction, prioritizing customer needs, coordinating with support and engineering teams, creating technical documentation, and performing additional tasks as required by the manager.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in software engineering and/or sales engineering management at a SaaS, Open Source, or Enterprise Software company.
A solid understanding of cloud computing trends and open source business models is required.
Strong listening and communication skills are essential.
Candidates should be able to confidently lead discussions with Product Managers, Engineers, and Executives.
Enthusiasm for working in a high-profile, fast-paced startup culture is necessary.
Bonus points for experience with Docker/Kubernetes, familiarity with APIs and CI/CD automation frameworks, and fluency in French.

Kong offers competitive compensation that varies based on location, role, skill set, and experience, with a typical base pay range for this role in CAD being $240,000-262,500 CAD plus variable compensation and equity.
