Description:

Xometry is seeking a principal machine learning engineer to join their core machine learning platform engineering team.
The role involves partnering closely with the AI/MLE leadership team to deliver the vision and technical implementation for foundational infrastructure used by Xometry’s AI/ML solutions.
Responsibilities include hands-on technical leadership, teaching and mentorship, code review, ensuring operational excellence, collaborative strategy, and guiding innovation.
The position is high visibility and offers opportunities for innovation, ownership of work, and a crucial role in the Xometry platform.

Requirements:

Candidates must have at least 7 years of experience in machine learning engineering, software engineering, data science, or a similar technical role.
A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree (M.S. or PhD) in computer science, machine learning, AI, or a related field is preferred and may substitute for some years of experience.
Demonstrated experience in designing and deploying cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS) to support machine learning and machine learning models, with a focus on scale, reliability, and security is required.
A deep understanding of the machine learning lifecycle and related infrastructure needs is essential.
Strong technical expertise in software engineering principles, machine learning techniques, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), REST API design, and programming in Python is necessary.
Experience with AWS microservices, containerization technologies, and multimodal data processing is required.
Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills at all organizational levels and experience in the manufacturing or supply chain industries is a plus.
Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder due to ITAR regulations.
