Description:

Viant’s customers utilize the Demand Side Platform (DSP) to set up, run, and monitor ad campaigns.
The platform team is responsible for a complex set of backend services and the frontend UI that comprise the DSP.
These services are deployed in a distributed, multi-region, cloud-based infrastructure and utilize the latest technologies to manage the intricate functionalities of the DSP.
As the technical lead, you will oversee the design and implementation of interconnected services, ensuring the system evolves to meet modern demands for speed, scale, and agility.
You will have the opportunity to mentor team members and contribute to the success of Viant’s products.
Your role will primarily support Viant DSP, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Technical operations teams on specification creation and providing production support.
You will determine a long-term technical vision and scope for future projects while continuously developing and reviewing existing projects.
You will lead end-to-end product development efforts for Viant DSP’s suite of products.
You will own and contribute to major features and areas of the products.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams internally and customers externally to understand pain points, underserved needs, and identify opportunities.
You will mentor engineers in an innovative, user-focused, fast-paced environment.
You will drive initiatives to reduce operational load and build operationally sustainable products.

Requirements:

You must have experience in the AdTech domain or possess strong proficiency in the Go programming language.
You should have 12+ years of professional experience in the software industry.
You need experience with web services, microservices, or other Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
You must have relational database experience, such as MySQL, Postgres, or Oracle, along with experience in complex SQL.
A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field is great to have.
You should have a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
Knowledge of modern programming languages, especially Java and Go, is beneficial.
Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, particularly AWS, Azure, or GCP, is advantageous.
Hands-on experience in designing, building, and delivering high-quality scalable, operationally sustainable software is preferred.
Ad tech industry experience and NoSQL experience are considered a plus.
