Description:

  • As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in building the Developer Experience team and managing complex infrastructure, applications, and services that support engineering across the organization.
  • You will work with various codebases and tech stacks, contributing hands-on to the codebase and focusing on areas where your impact is most significant.
  • Your responsibilities will include shaping internal guidelines and best practices, providing architectural direction, mentoring engineers, leading code reviews, and enhancing developer workflows, system reliability, and overall productivity.
  • You will collaborate with a diverse team, including product, design, application engineers, data engineers, and AI experts, to create innovative solutions to evolving engineering challenges.
  • You will design, build, and take ownership of high-impact applications and services that are critical to the organization’s success and scalability.
  • You will drive the full lifecycle of application development, from frontend interfaces to backend services and cloud infrastructure.
  • You will define and promote engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines to improve quality and consistency.
  • You will improve CI/CD pipelines, test automation, observability, and deployment workflows to facilitate faster and safer releases.
  • You will ensure the operational health of systems by maintaining stability, uptime, and observability of critical engineering services.
  • You will mentor engineers through code reviews, design sessions, pair programming, and ongoing knowledge-sharing.
  • You will communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to align priorities and expectations.
  • You will foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and engineering excellence across teams.

Requirements:

  • You must have 8+ years of professional experience in designing, building, and maintaining production-grade software systems across various tech stacks.
  • Strong backend engineering skills are required, with experience in designing APIs, building scalable services, and working in distributed environments.
  • Proficiency in working across the full application stack, including frontend frameworks, backend services, and cloud infrastructure is essential.
  • You should have proficiency with AWS services and cloud infrastructure, including a working understanding of VPCs, IAM, EC2, ECS, and S3.
  • You must be comfortable navigating a variety of technologies, with experience in stacks ranging from Python to JavaScript-based frameworks like MEAN.
  • A deep understanding of CI/CD workflows and modern engineering automation practices is necessary, along with experience using tools like GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar.
  • Practical knowledge of containerization and orchestration using tools such as Docker and Kubernetes is required.
  • Strong database experience, including both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB) systems, is essential.
  • You should be a clear, thoughtful communicator who collaborates effectively across engineering, product, and business teams.
  • A demonstrated ability to deliver projects end to end, from early design through to deployment and monitoring, is necessary.
  • Experience in mentoring engineers and fostering an inclusive, growth-oriented engineering culture is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is necessary.
