Remo is a virtual dementia care provider focused on enhancing the care journey for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.
The Principal Software Engineer will lead a team to improve the provider experience within Remo's dementia care platform.
Responsibilities include writing code, making technology choices, leading complex projects, and mentoring fellow engineers.
The engineer will own deliverables, identify roadblocks, and suggest course corrections with a sense of urgency.
The role involves leading technical design discussions, setting architectural principles, and guiding the team on best practices.
The engineer will build scalable and reliable solutions to support a growing user base and evolving healthcare needs.
The position requires solving complex healthcare problems and delivering high-quality features using technologies like React, TypeScript, Next.js, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL.
The engineer will integrate healthcare standards and implement technologies such as FHIR, HL7, and DICOM.
Responsibilities also include implementing DICOM and PACS functionalities, X12 and ADT functionalities, and prioritizing security for patient data.
The engineer will design and implement automated tests to maintain high-quality standards and collaborate with the engineering leadership team.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record in healthcare systems.
Experience in leading complex features and driving technical architecture and requirements is essential.
The ability to lead technical teams, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders is required.
Candidates should have experience in building high-velocity, highly functioning engineering teams.
Experience in leading technical design discussions and providing guidance on best practices is necessary.
Proficiency in building full-stack user-facing features for web applications with a focus on performance optimization and security is required.
Strong knowledge of FHIR, HL7, X12, ADT, PACS, DICOM, and EHR/EMR systems is essential.
Proficiency with Docker, Node.js/TypeScript, GraphQL, and cloud environments like GCP is required.
Experience in designing and implementing GraphQL APIs with a focus on security and performance is necessary.
Knowledge of PostgreSQL, relational databases, and messaging systems is required.
Familiarity with compliance and health data privacy standards (SOC 2, HIPAA, HITRUST) is a plus.
