Description:

Almanak is looking for a Python Software Engineer (Junior-Mid) to join the team to build AI Agents in DeFi.
The team is small and fast-moving, focusing on building production-grade AI Agents and deploying them.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and benchmarking Python-based AI agents end-to-end, which involves planning loops, memory and vector stores, tool orchestration, eval harnesses, and deployment.
The role requires parsing raw transaction data, tracing smart-contract calls, and surfacing actionable insights regarding AI-generated code or actions that failed on-chain.
The engineer will run rapid experiments with new models and frameworks, present findings to the team, and turn the best ideas into product features.
The position emphasizes code quality, requiring the writing of clean, testable Python code, reviewing PRs, documenting decisions, and improving the codebase.

Requirements:

Candidates must have fluency in Python and be able to demonstrate their experience, understanding the limitations of Vibe Coding and how to leverage it.
Applicants should have experience coding at least one autonomous agent independently, without step-by-step guidance.
A solid understanding of cryptocurrency concepts such as transactions, nonces, gas mechanics, ERC-20 events, protocols, and smart contracts is essential, with the ability to engage deeply with these topics.
Candidates should stay up-to-date with the latest news and best practices in the rapidly evolving AI and crypto space, driven by personal interest rather than obligation.
A growth-oriented attitude is necessary, with a preference for small teams, tackling ambiguous problems, and delivering results quickly.
