Extreme Networks is seeking a Senior Backend Developer with over 7 years of experience in Java, Python, and microservices architecture to join their agile team.
The role focuses on developing robust backend systems for GenAI applications, handling complex data flows, and optimizing performance at scale.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing backend solutions using cloud-native technologies, developing scalable APIs for ExtremeCloud applications, and creating high-performance distributed systems with Python and FastAPI.
The developer will collaborate with ML Scientists and Engineers to integrate machine learning models into production-ready systems.
The position involves managing workflows using DAGs, leading automated testing efforts, and utilizing Docker and Kubernetes for service management and CI/CD.
Performance optimization, security best practices implementation, mentorship of junior developers, and effective communication with stakeholders are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in Java and Python, with deep expertise in advanced features and libraries.
Expert-level knowledge of FastAPI, OpenAPI, and gRPC is required.
Extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL databases is necessary.
A proven track record in designing and implementing both synchronous and asynchronous microservices and distributed systems is essential.
Hands-on experience in building resilient, scalable distributed systems is required.
Strong ability to handle big data and optimize workflows for performance is needed.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure is important.
Experience with distributed computing technologies like Kafka, Redis, and RabbitMQ is required.
Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD practices is necessary.
Experience with load testing tools and performance tuning techniques is also required.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $140,000 per year.
