The Senior Backend Engineer will design, build, and operate Atticus’ APIs with a focus on performance, modularity, extensibility, and reliability.

The engineer will architect, design, write, review, and test code in a collaborative environment.

Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience writing idiomatic JavaScript, Golang, Java, Python, Scala, or Ruby.
Experience in building modern, resilient backend systems that adhere to industry standards is required.
The candidate should enjoy teaching and mentoring teammates on backend system best practices and architecture.
Strong collaboration skills with product teams to clarify and translate requirements are essential.
Proficiency in using a modern version-control system for source code repositories is necessary.
Candidates must be familiar with code linting and writing tests for their code.
Knowledge of cloud computing systems (GCP, AWS) and SAAS concepts is required.
Experience with continuous integration systems is necessary.
Candidates should be willing and able to deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain systems in production and staging environments.
Bonus qualifications include experience with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Docker, and distributed SQL platforms.
