As a Senior Back-End Software Engineer, you will shape the core platform and drive impactful enhancements.
You will design, implement, and maintain backend services that support a growing user base, tackle scaling challenges, and optimize performance.
The role involves collaborating closely with a dynamic team of engineers and stakeholders to influence architectural decisions, establish best practices, and enhance system reliability.
Your contributions will directly impact the platform's scalability, efficiency, and overall success.
Responsibilities include developing, testing, and deploying back-end services and APIs using Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and other components in the stack.
You will architect scalable solutions to handle high-volume data and transaction processing, maintain and optimize existing code, and collaborate with front-end engineers and product managers to define and ship new features.
Monitoring production systems, resolving incidents, and implementing improvements to prevent future issues are also key responsibilities.
You will mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement while writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Requirements:
You must have 5+ years of experience in back-end software development, with a strong emphasis on Ruby on Rails.
Proficiency in database design and management, particularly with PostgreSQL, is required.
Familiarity with background processing using Sidekiq or similar tools is necessary.
Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g., Heroku, AWS, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines is essential.
A solid understanding of RESTful API design and web application architecture is required.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary for this role.
Strong engagement and communication skills are required, with the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams.
Nice-to-haves include experience with Redis, knowledge of error monitoring tools, familiarity with logging solutions, understanding of front-end technologies, previous experience in a startup environment, and a passion for mentoring.
