The Senior Data Engineer will have a strong infrastructure focus to help build and operate the foundation of the data platform.
This role involves bridging data engineering and platform operations, designing systems for ingestion, transformation, and observability at scale.
Responsibilities include defining architecture patterns, implementing strong data pipelines, and optimizing the performance and reliability of the data ecosystem.

Requirements:

A BS degree in a STEM field is required.
Candidates should have 5-7 years of experience in building batch and streaming data pipelines from various sources end-to-end, including ingestion, processing, and transformation.
Fluency in Python and SQL is necessary.
Knowledge of data privacy and security best practices, such as data masking and PII layering, is required.
Experience with data orchestration tools like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect is essential.
Familiarity with data observability tools like Monte Carlo, Metaplan, or BigEye is needed.
Experience with semantic modeling and common BI tools (e.g., Looker, Omni, Tableau, Metabase) is required.
A deep understanding of GCP/AWS cloud infrastructure and offerings (IAM/Compute/Kubernetes/Analytics) is necessary.
Experience with Cloud Data Warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.) and data transformation tools (DBT, SQLMesh) is required.
Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code platforms like Terraform or Pulumi is essential.
Bonus points for knowledge of data governance best practices and deep experience with data modeling and database architecture.
