Description:

SmartAsset is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead the development and deployment of machine learning models that optimize business decisions, including portfolio optimization, marketing media modeling, and process optimization.
The role involves utilizing strong problem-solving skills, computational experience, and business analytics to address real-world problems at scale.
The Senior Data Scientist will design and implement various data products to support and drive business operations, collaborating cross-functionally with leaders from marketing, product, sales, and technology.
The position offers the opportunity to identify opportunities, create roadmaps, and deliver impactful data products from the first week.

Requirements:

Proficiency in Python (including libraries such as pandas, numpy, scipy, matplotlib, and sci-kit-learn) and SQL is required.
Knowledge of best practices such as version control (git), documentation, environments, unit tests, CI/CD, and containerization is essential.
Professional experience collaborating with the marketing department on portfolio optimization, media mix modeling, and campaign efficiency is necessary, along with embedding insights and data products into stakeholder processes.
Experience in model deployment, specifically with MWAA, Snowflake, and Tableau, is required.
The candidate should have experience leading multiple domains within a company and serving as the point of contact with external stakeholders, demonstrating proven ROI returns for the business.
Professional habits around model validation, testing, and tracking are expected.
Strong communication skills are necessary to interact efficiently with all types of stakeholders, from junior colleagues to non-technical stakeholders and executives.
A minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience with a strong quantitative background is required.
