Description:

Nexus Studios is seeking a Senior Developer for Frontend XR Systems Architecture to build a platform for a new XR product using Kotlin and GLSL.
This is a senior hands-on development role responsible for creating a scalable framework and supporting a larger development team in integrating UX/UI work along with external APIs and SDKs.
The product is a live, fan-facing application that requires technical infrastructure capable of real-time performance and extensibility across various leagues and features.
The role involves close collaboration with a technical lead and technology director to ensure a robust and performant experience that evolves over time.
The position is remote, with working hours from 10am to 7pm UK time, and is a long-term contract starting in July 2025.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8+ years of engineering experience, including at least 2 years in senior or higher roles, with an understanding of product-oriented environments and full stack development.
Significant hands-on experience in Kotlin development is required, along with knowledge of structuring codebases for live product experiences.
Experience in building or scaling real-time systems, AR/VR/XR applications, or other immersive platforms is essential.
Candidates should know how to integrate and extend third-party SDKs within live services and be confident in managing ambiguity and prioritizing stability.
Understanding of designing for modular development and phased feature rollout is necessary.
Candidates should be excited about building for live, high-emotion moments and performance under pressure.
Preferred experience includes building or integrating systems for fan engagement tools or data-rich entertainment products, exposure to Spatial SDKs, experience with Unity, and collaborative experience with external platform teams.

This role is embedded in a highly collaborative, partner-facing development environment, allowing the candidate to help define not just what is built, but how it is built.
