The Senior Engineer, Data Platforms role involves building cloudevent microservices and Apache Spark applications to efficiently manage Arcadia’s key data assets.
The position requires working with a scalable data processing infrastructure and a pluggable analytics and data enrichment platform.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing horizontally scalable big data systems, utilizing cloud-native technologies, and leading full-stack design and development.
The role also involves collaborating with various teams, debugging production issues, mentoring junior engineers, and driving the adoption of emerging development tools.
Success metrics include understanding Arcadia’s healthcare data, contributing to development, and acting as a tech lead on new projects over a 12-month period.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a passion for solving complex distributed systems problems and a deep understanding of distributed computing and big data technologies.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in distributed systems and cloud-native technologies is required.
Proficiency in Java, Spark, and Kubernetes is essential.
Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is necessary.
Familiarity with Data Lake and Lakehouse architecture is preferred.
Strong knowledge of Agile software development processes and CI/CD pipelines is required.
Experience in mentoring junior engineers and influencing architectural decisions is important.
