Sotheby’s is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to help revolutionize its 276-year-old business.
The role involves driving technical vision, product development, and optimizing complex problems to improve efficiency.
Candidates will collaborate with designers, user researchers, and engineers to continuously test and ship features.
Responsibilities include building and maintaining internal and consumer-facing tools, designing elegant abstractions, and improving the end-to-end experience for specialists.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of industry engineering experience with a proven track record.
Excellent communication skills are required, including active listening and the ability to provide constructive feedback.
Candidates should be intrinsically driven to innovate and take initiative in improving processes.
Experience in writing, deploying, and running distributed systems is essential.
Proven experience in writing microservices with clear separation of concerns is required.
Expert knowledge and experience with either Golang or Scala is mandatory.
Candidates must have experience with data structures and algorithms related to web system design and distributed systems.
Expert knowledge of RDBMS such as Postgres or MySQL and writing migrations is required.
Working knowledge of GraphQL and GRPC is a plus.
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is beneficial.
Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS is required.
Knowledge of messaging queue systems is also necessary.
