Description:

Thrive Market is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Product Engineering team, which collaborates with Product Managers and Feature teams to enhance the e-commerce grocery experience.
The role involves developing REST and JSON API services to create new customer experiences and decomposing existing services into scalable microservices.
Responsibilities include building services that scale horizontally, utilizing various tools and technologies such as Golang, Python, PHP, Java, AWS, and Kafka.
The engineer will engage in test-driven development to ensure customer experience and reliability, incorporate metrics into new services, and work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues.
The position requires innovation in customer experience and architecture discussions, enforcing best practices, and strategically planning tasks to elevate the team.
The engineer will own the service level agreements (SLAs) for APIs and strive to achieve high standards.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience developing high-traffic, responsive cross-platform sites.
A working knowledge of Linux, relational and NoSQL databases, and serverless architecture is required.
Applicants should understand the trade-offs between different architecture choices and database technologies.
Experience with various AWS services, including Lambda, S3, and CloudWatch, is necessary.
Candidates should have a background in building n-tier applications capable of handling millions of transactions daily.
Experience in shipping high-impact customer use cases in a customer-facing product is essential.
Understanding of scaling and performance in a microservice architecture is required.
Proficiency in version control systems like Git is necessary.
Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as New Relic is important for maintaining SLAs and performance metrics.
