Description:

Close is a bootstrapped, profitable, 100% remote company with a team of around 100 individuals focused on building a communication-focused CRM for small scaling businesses.
The backend tech stack primarily consists of Python Flask web apps, with TaskTiger for asynchronous task processing, and data stores including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
The infrastructure runs on AWS, utilizing managed services like EKS, MSK, RDS, and ElasticCache, along with non-managed services on EC2 instances.
The role involves joining one of six cross-functional teams and collaborating with backend and frontend engineers, product managers, and designers.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, launching, and scaling major systems and user-facing features, improving API performance, and enhancing integrations with other SaaS platforms.
The position requires managing significant data processing needs, including billions of Mongo documents and millions of PostgreSQL rows.

Requirements:

Candidates should have 5+ years of experience for Senior 1 & 2 levels, 8+ years for Staff level, and around 3 years for Mid-level candidates.
Professional Python experience is preferred, but a working knowledge of Python with experience in other languages is acceptable.
Experience in building web APIs that are Internet-facing or support high volume loads is required.
Hands-on production experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, or similar data stores is necessary.
Candidates must have experience in designing, scaling, debugging, and optimizing systems for performance and reliability.
Participation in code reviews and maintaining code quality is expected.
Candidates must be located in the USA (lower 48 timezones).
