The Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack (CDP API) position is a remote role based in the USA at Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP).
The CDP is focused on building developer tools to facilitate onchain development, aiming to simplify the process for developers.
The team operates with a startup mentality, emphasizing a fast pace, strong ownership culture, and a commitment to enhancing developer experiences.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems using Go and JavaScript, as well as creating ergonomic SDKs in multiple languages.
The engineer will author and maintain clear documentation to promote the adoption of CDP APIs and SDKs.
The role involves developing secure key management systems and collaborating with various teams to externalize backend services.
Direct interaction with customers to gather feedback and improve the APIs and SDKs is also a key part of the job.
The engineer will troubleshoot fullstack issues, participate in code reviews, and ensure high code quality standards.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in both backend and frontend software development.
Mastery of Go and JavaScript is required, with additional experience in Ruby, TypeScript, Python, and Java being a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with a passion for creating clear developer documentation.
A strong understanding of crypto wallets, key management, cryptography, and blockchain protocols is necessary.
Proven experience in designing and shipping high-quality client-side libraries and SDKs is required.
Candidates should have a solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and event-driven architectures.
Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB, as well as caching systems like Redis and Memcached, is needed.
Familiarity with RESTful API design principles and experience in API development and integration is essential.
Knowledge of AWS and containerization technologies like Kubernetes is preferred.
Understanding of security best practices and experience in implementing secure coding practices for financial systems is required.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $180,625—$212,500 USD, depending on work location.
