Description:
The Senior Backend Engineer will be responsible for creating, maintaining, testing, and debugging back-end web applications within the tech team at Foodics.
Responsibilities include establishing and guiding the architecture of multiple web applications, collaborating with other team members, designing and implementing new features, and using test-driven development to write well-tested code.
The role involves solving complex performance problems, integrating data from various services and databases, offering coaching to junior engineers, researching and leading the adoption of new technologies, and improving the code base.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in developing large-scale web applications, strong PHP/Laravel experience, knowledge of relational databases, experience with writing unit and integration tests, and a solid understanding of REST APIs.
Additionally, experience in designing, implementing, and deploying backend services with a focus on high availability, low latency, and consistency is required. Knowledge of Redis, queuing, and caching systems is essential.
Strong communication skills, analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in English are necessary. Experience with fintech applications is a plus, and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment is crucial.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years experience in developing large-scale web applications.
Extensive experience with relational databases.
Strong PHP/Laravel experience preferred, but experience in other languages is acceptable.
Experience writing unit and integration tests.
Designing, implementing, and deploying backend services with a focus on high availability, low latency, and consistency.
Solid understanding of REST APIs.
Good understanding of Redis and caching.
Experience leading technical projects in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of modern queuing and caching systems like Redis.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with different stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal.
Ability to adapt to a time zone difference and thrive in a remote working environment.
