Remote Senior Software Engineer, Platform

Description:

• Astronomer is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Platform team responsible for Astro's Public API, authentication, authorization, billing, alerting frameworks, common UI components, and overall reliability, scalability, and maintainability of the Astro Platform.
• The role involves contributing to the design, development, and vision of Astro Platform’s architecture and components.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements, implement features, and iterate on engineering org features.
• Working with front end developers, product management, and customers to deliver customer-facing features like public APIs and UI experiences.
• Continuously evaluating and improving the platform's architecture and implementation.
• Contributing to the platform's usability, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements:

• Strong focus on delivering performant, scalable, and reliable backend systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to find middle ground.
• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience in fast-paced startup environments.
• Proficiency in Golang, Typescript, SQL databases, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with software development best practices like code reviews, testing, CI/CD, version control, automation, and debugging.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts through architectural diagrams.
