Description:

Sanity.io is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Runtime team, responsible for Sanity’s Blueprints IaC and Functions products.
The role involves defining technical direction, guiding architecture, and building stable, performant, scalable solutions at high velocity.
The engineer will primarily work on backend systems using Node.js, TypeScript, and Go, collaborating with a skilled team of engineers, designers, and data analysts.
Responsibilities include collaborating with Principal Engineers and project EM/PM, making architectural decisions, aligning with tech leads on infrastructure as code implementations, mentoring team members, and making informed decisions based on customer research and industry standards.
The engineer will work with a variety of technologies including Node.js, TypeScript, Go, and PostgreSQL.

Requirements:

Candidates must be based in the United States or Canada.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, specifically in backend systems engineering, is required.
Proven experience in designing and building APIs and microservices, preferably with proficiency in Node.js, is essential.
Candidates should be technology generalists who can work efficiently across the stack.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to understand context and break down complex problems into efficient solutions are necessary.
The ability to find pragmatic solutions that balance quality, speed, and results is important, prioritizing impact over perfection.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are required for conveying ideas, technical decisions, and feedback.
