Description:
Second Front Systems' Product team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the Observability team.
The role involves deploying, maintaining, and scaling observability infrastructure across multiple DoD networks.
Responsibilities include working with Kubernetes-based platforms, BigBang charts from DoD Platform One, and building automation for monitoring stack deployment.
The position requires collaboration to implement infrastructure that delivers unique capabilities for commercial and government customers, including the Department of Defense.
The Observability team is looking for a strong SRE with deep DevSecOps and Kubernetes experience, particularly in deploying and maintaining monitoring infrastructure at scale.
Experience with DoD software deployments, Platform One, and single-tenant architectures is highly valued.
The position requires U.S. citizenship due to government contract requirements.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps experience.
Deep experience with Kubernetes administration, troubleshooting, and scaling is required.
Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Mimir/Cortex is necessary.
A strong understanding of Helm charts, GitOps practices, and CNCF tooling is essential.
Experience with service mesh technologies, preferably Istio, is required.
Proven ability to debug complex distributed systems and networking issues is necessary.
Understanding of authentication systems and security in regulated environments is required.
Candidates must be able to work independently and collaborate with team members in a remote environment.
