The position is for a C# or Rust software engineer at BoostDraft, a startup developing a document IDE for non-engineers.
BoostDraft focuses on developing an assisted document editor for documents, employing error checking, reference checking, and auto-completion using rule-based approaches and NLP.
The company targets lawyers who draft standardized but lengthy documents like contracts, with over 7,500 active paid users within a year of product launch.
BoostDraft has long-term contracts with renowned enterprises and law firms, experiencing exponential growth without external funding.
The team consists of around 70% software engineers with experience from companies like Microsoft, IBM, HTC, Yahoo!, and NTT.
Technical challenges include performance improvement, synchronization between user input and on-memory text, cache efficiency, and security in NLP like Federated Learning.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing classes and methods for the document IDE, refactoring existing code, interviewing users, and proposing innovative ideas for new features.
Requirements:
Interested in developing novel document editors.
Fluent in coding with C#, C++, Java, or Rust.
Believe in writing clean, efficient code and have experience with Github.
Understand CI/CD concepts and hold a Master's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
Must have experience in C#, C++, Rust, or Java development, team development using Github, understanding of CI/CD concepts, ability to create a psychologically safe environment, concise communication skills, and diversity understanding.
Desired qualifications include experience in developing with a team of 5 or more engineers, actively proposing improvements, understanding both user and technical perspectives, and business-level English proficiency.
