Description:

  • Going is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Mobile to enhance their mobile app as their member base grows.
  • The role involves collaborating with product and design teams to build innovative features, fix bugs, and improve functionality.
  • The engineer will work with other engineering teams to implement cross-functional features and ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Short-term responsibilities include familiarizing oneself with the code base, collaborating with designers to develop a feature roadmap, establishing APIs with service engineers, and gaining context on technical direction from mobile engineering peers.
  • Long-term responsibilities include becoming an expert in the tooling used, taking ownership of end-to-end features, proposing technical and product improvements, and advocating for engineering best practices.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on expertise with TypeScript and React Native is required.
  • Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to performance, usability, and accessibility, and have experience writing and maintaining automated tests.
  • Experience mentoring other engineers or being recognized as an expert in certain work components is necessary.
  • Candidates should approach challenges with empathy and a customer-focused mindset, possess clear communication skills, and maintain high standards for their work.
  • Flexibility, open-mindedness, and a willingness to learn are essential traits.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and be able to work US hours.
  • Nice to have: Experience in native iOS/Android module development, building scalable JavaScript web applications, and working in a startup environment.

  • The starting salary for this role is $140,000 plus equity.
