The company is seeking a software engineer for the PyDough Project, which aims to create an analytics interface leveraging object relationships for scalability in complex business questions.
The role involves designing, developing, and testing the PyDough project using industry-standard Python packages and tooling.
Responsibilities include contributing to documentation, responding to community feedback, and reviewing code developed by other engineers to ensure best practices.

Requirements:

A B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
A minimum of 1 year of experience working with Python is necessary, along with experience using testing frameworks such as Pytest.
Familiarity with writing SQL queries or using SQL-based frameworks like SQLAlchemy is required.
Strong teamwork, communication skills, and attention to detail are essential.
Experience integrating databases through ODBC, JDBC, or equivalent connectors is needed.
Candidates should have experience working with big data storage formats such as Apache Iceberg.
Experience optimizing SQL queries for runtime performance is required.
Familiarity with LLM integration is necessary.
Contributions to one or more open-source projects, ideally as a regular contributor, are preferred.
Familiarity with the differences between two or more SQL dialects is also required.
