Description:
The Sr. Embedded Algorithms Engineer will prototype and implement algorithms on BioIntelliSense's existing and future products to extract meaningful measurements and information.
High-quality data is essential for enabling downstream clinical intelligence.
The role requires timely delivery on product requirements to contribute to the company’s success.
Responsibilities include researching novel methods for vital sign signal extraction using high-frequency sensor data.
The engineer will work with the product team to define algorithm requirements and test metrics.
Rapid iteration to develop algorithm prototypes and communicate performance tradeoffs is expected.
The engineer will port algorithms to C/C++ and optimize computations to meet processor and power constraints.
Development of test protocols for the data collection team and performing QA to ensure product requirements are met is required.
The role involves ideating new tools to automate algorithm benchmarking and testing to improve team efficiency.
The engineer will develop and maintain internal signal evaluation tools to assist algorithm, firmware, and hardware teams in optimizing products.
Assistance in designing and conducting studies to evaluate new hardware/firmware prototypes during development and validation stages is also part of the role.
Requirements:
A PhD or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field is required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in signal processing methods and algorithm design, including FIR/IIR filters, adaptive filtering, statistical processes, and time/frequency analysis, is necessary.
Experience with pre-processing and analyzing large time-series datasets is required.
Proficiency in embedded C/C++, particularly in resource-constrained systems, is essential.
Experience with embedded microcontrollers, such as ARM Cortex M0/M4 or similar, is required.
Experience with Machine Learning approaches is a plus.
A working knowledge of mixed-signal hardware design for embedded systems is a nice-to-have.
Strong proficiency in Python is required.
Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary.
Strong critical thinking skills and high attention to detail are essential.
The ability to work under pressure in a startup environment is required.

The position offers a salary range of $150,000 - $170,000 a year, based on experience and location.
