Description:

  • The position is for an SRE Support Engineer within the Gigster Talent Network, focusing on exciting upcoming projects with major clients.
  • Candidates will work across different time zones, including Pacific Time, UK office hours, and Singapore office hours.
  • Responsibilities include supporting internal IaaS, providing a range of services from onboarding to creating informational posts on the community support platform.
  • SRE Support Engineers will participate in developing support tools and processes, requiring maturity to understand scaling in services.
  • The role involves troubleshooting and resolving container orchestration issues, application deployment issues, and analyzing customer interaction trends.
  • Work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM UK time, Monday to Friday, with availability required for weekend maintenance when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a robust level of spoken and written English.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in supporting highly scalable applications and web services is required.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, specifically AWS, is mandatory; Google Cloud experience is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker is mandatory, with basic knowledge of Spark and Kafka.
  • Extensive experience in deploying, managing, and scaling applications using Kubernetes is required, along with familiarity with Helm or Kustomize.
  • A deep understanding of Linux administration, scripting (Bash, Python, or similar), and troubleshooting is essential.
  • Candidates should have knowledge of network protocols, DNS, load balancing, and related technologies.
  • Comfort in working with a technical customer base and providing a wide range of support is necessary.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are required.
  • Attention to detail, analytical capabilities, and a passion for technical support are essential.
  • Candidates must have strong troubleshooting experience and the ability to work as an independent contractor for a US company.
