Description:
KOHO is seeking a Staff Developer to join their remote team in Canada, reporting to the VP of Technology, David Kormushoff.
The role involves working with a high-performing AI team that is already delivering significant business impact.
The Staff Developer will focus on accelerating and scaling KOHO's internal AI platform, which is currently in production and powering multiple use cases.
Responsibilities include developing, training, and deploying generative AI workflows and autonomous agents to automate business processes and enhance KOHO’s products.
The position requires designing and implementing end-to-end solutions that integrate AI features across the tech stack, ensuring a seamless user experience.
The Staff Developer will lead the technical strategy for the AI platform, conducting proofs-of-concept with emerging technologies and making data-driven recommendations.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to embed AI capabilities into various products and services, sharing expertise and mentoring engineers on best practices.
The role also involves ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of AI systems, establishing high standards for code quality and infrastructure.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in software engineering or data engineering, with a proven track record of building reliable, scalable systems in production.
Hands-on experience in developing and deploying AI/ML solutions, particularly with generative AI or LLM-based systems, is essential.
Proficiency in full-stack development is required, including experience with web frontend features, backend services, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure, with a strong plus for AWS and Terraform experience.
Candidates should be innovative and adaptable, staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, and able to learn new domains quickly.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are necessary to influence and inspire other engineers and stakeholders without formal authority.
A self-starter attitude and problem-solving skills are crucial, with the ability to take initiative and drive towards outcomes in a high-autonomy environment.
