Description:

Xometry is seeking an experienced Staff-level Backend Engineer with expertise in Python or Rust to join their software engineering team.
The role involves designing, coding, testing, and releasing software, including working with HTML, Typescript/Javascript/React, Python, and Rust.
Collaboration with other engineers and product managers is essential to contribute to the evolution of the instant-quote product and technology platform.
Operational responsibilities include deploying services into an AWS and Kubernetes environment and participating in an on-call rotation.

Requirements:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in a fast-paced technical, problem-solving environment as a software developer.
Strong English speaking and writing skills are required to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
Demonstrable understanding of software engineering fundamentals and knowledge of HTML, CSS, and DOM web programming.
Proficiency in at least two of Python, Rust, and React is necessary.
Experience with software engineering principles related to security, scalability, asynchronous programming, and transactions is required.
Attention to detail, good work ethic, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and strong communication skills are essential.
