Description:

Mapbox is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for their Identity & Auth team in Germany.
The team is responsible for identity and access management, authentication of requests to Mapbox APIs, and anti-fraud and abuse functionalities.
The systems developed by this team serve as entry points for all Mapbox products, emphasizing reliability, data integrity, and security.
The role involves collaborating with various teams, including Billing, Security, and Platform, to develop secure identity and access management solutions.
Responsibilities include spearheading new feature development for account management, designing future-proof systems, promoting operational excellence, and documenting work processes.
The position requires a culture of collaboration, transparency, creativity, inclusion, and data-driven decision-making.

Requirements:

Candidates must be located in Germany.
A minimum of 8 years of experience as a software engineer, specifically in identity and authorization technology, software security, and service abuse prevention is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for interfacing with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with software security and big data is essential, along with the ability to collaborate with senior technical leaders.
Candidates should be metrics and impact-driven, with the ability to translate customer needs into product solutions.
A self-starter attitude is required, with the ability to work autonomously and proactively.
Team players who enjoy collaboration and sharing expertise with diverse individuals are preferred.
Familiarity with Web Services, Microservices, Databases, Software Security, Authentication & Authorization, Anti-Fraud & Abuse, and Big Data is necessary.
Experience with the tech stack including Node.js, React, SQL, NoSQL, Docker, and AWS (ECS, CloudFormation, Lambda, DynamoDB, EMR) is a plus.
