Senior Software Automation Engineer

I'm a test automation engineer with 11 years of experience who has repeatedly built testing infrastructure from zero — not just written tests, but architected the frameworks that entire engineering teams build on. What makes me unique is the combination of three things most people don't have together: first, I've built frameworks from scratch at multiple companies (Motive, Banque Misr, Walmart) using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, and Pytest, so I know what architectural decisions matter on day one versus what can evolve later. Second, I'm already doing AI-driven QA in production — not experimenting, but shipping real MCP servers, custom Claude Code commands, and LLM-powered test generation at TELUS, which most SDETs are still reading blog posts about. Third, I've worked across deeply regulated, high-reliability domains - fintech (FreedomPay), banking (Allied Bank, Banque Misr), telecom (TELUS), and retail (Walmart) — so I understand what it means when a test failure in a billing or payment system isn't just a bug, it's a compliance risk or a customer trust issue. That regulated-domain instinct maps directly to utilities. I'm not someone who needs to be told what to automate — I assess risk, prioritize by business impact, build fast reliable suites, and set patterns that scale. That's what I've done everywhere I've gone, and that's exactly what SpryPoint needs as the first SDET on a new team.
