Elixir Backend Developer

I’ve been building backend systems in Elixir/OTP for over 5 years, mostly as an independent contractor in healthcare, logistics, e-commerce and EV charging. I like performance problems: finding the slow query, the overloaded process, or the bottleneck in a supervision tree, and fixing it.

At Wellnuts I added batching that cut GraphQL queries from 3+ minutes to under 30 seconds. I also restructured OTP supervision trees, which halved connection time for 10k+ EV chargers and brought message latency spikes down from 9s to 1s. Before that, I built a medical platform’s REST backend from scratch, designed RabbitMQ-based integrations, and added a permissions system to a logistics platform.

I’m looking for a remote backend role, ideally Elixir, on a product with real load where performance and reliability matter. I want a team that values ownership and clear communication.
