I'm a backend engineer with 3+ years building and shipping production APIs in Python and FastAPI. I like owning systems end to end — schema design, async workers, authentication, and Docker deployment — and I care most about the parts that decide whether a service can be trusted: security, multi-tenant isolation, and the failure modes that only show up under load.
Recent work includes PatStat, a hospital-grade, multi-tenant patient-tracking backend (real-time WebSockets + push, 248 tests at near-100% coverage), and DocFlow, a multi-tenant LLM document-extraction SaaS I hardened with circuit breakers, retries, and fallbacks. I came into engineering from a legal background, so I learn quickly and communicate clearly — I also mentor developers as a software-development facilitator.
I'm looking for a remote backend role (full-time or contract) where I can own features end to end and keep growing alongside strong engineers. Solid in Python today and eager to work in Go or Ruby/Rails.
