Cloud Architect
I started my career as a Telecommunications Engineer, focused on designing and configuring Wide and Local Area Networks, both wired and wireless. I learned to configure Next-Generation Firewalls and Site-to-Site VPNs over MPLS, both Layer 2 and Layer 3. Through it all, I came to have a deep understanding of networks, which helped me out a lot as Cloud Computing started to explode. One of the main struggles I see today in many companies is understanding how their network behaves in the cloud, which is not natural. My low-level understanding of networking has allowed me to navigate this situation with ease. Besides networking, I've always loved Software Development, and have been training myself from a very young age. I also tried to support my personal learning in Academia by taking a one-year Master's Degree in Computer Science at the University of Helsinki. As Remote work became more prevalent in my country, I started to look outside for more opportunities. Since then, I have been able to work as a freelance developer for several companies, working as a Full-Stack Engineer (JavaScript/TypeScript) or as a DevOps or SRE (working on AWS and GCP with tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, and deploying CI/CD pipelines in tools like BitBucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Tekton). For several years, I've also worked as a full-time employee at different startups, wearing multiple hats and handling development and infrastructure tasks. I am also an MBA graduate, which has dramatically helped me understand the business perspective and enabled me to bridge the conversation between management and engineering. This capacity has led me to lead small teams and to help plan the future of the company's products. I am now seeking additional growth opportunities, and I would love to participate in your selection process.
