Django REST API Developer

I'm a backend developer from Kathmandu, Nepal, focused on Python and Django REST Framework. After finishing my BIT, I've been building production-grade APIs rather than just tutorials including a multi-vendor marketplace platform with buyer/seller/admin roles, cart and order management, and negotiation workflows, and an Agritech marketplace with KYC verification and payment integration (Khalti/eSewa). Both are deployed with full Swagger/OpenAPI documentation, because I believe an API without docs isn't done.

What makes me different: most developers exploring AI/RAG either stay backend-only and never touch the AI layer, or jump straight into notebooks and never learn to ship production systems. I'm building toward the intersection a Django backend engineer who can also ship real RAG/AI features into production, not just prototype them. I'm currently working through a structured roadmap covering pgvector, embeddings, and retrieval pipelines to close that gap deliberately.

I'm looking for a backend or API engineering role Django/DRF, PostgreSQL, Docker ideally with a team building real products (not just internal tools), where I can grow into production AI/RAG work over time. Open to remote-first teams that value working software over credentials.
