Systems software engineer: low-level C++ and Rust, and production Linux infrastructure operations.

Infrastructure I run today:

• VMware vSphere/ESXi clusters with HA, vMotion and DRS for production-critical workloads

• Bare-metal Linux and Windows servers: RAID, CIS-hardened baselines and patch management

• Segmented networks (VLANs, MikroTik) isolating OT from corporate traffic; TLS/mTLS for internal services

• Infrastructure as code with Ansible, Terraform, Python and Bash

• Observability with Prometheus, Grafana and Zabbix across hosts, storage, network and industrial machines

Software I build:

• Real-time control and data acquisition software in C++ on embedded Linux

• Fault-tolerant edge software: retry, timeout and failover for connection loss, corrupted data and device failure

• Integration between legacy hardware and modern software, including communication protocol implementation

• ARM cross-compilation; CMake/Conan builds

• CI with unit and integration tests, sanitizers (ASan/UBSan/TSan) and fault injection

I use AI coding agents under explicit rules: restricted permissions, human review of every change, and the same merge criteria I apply to my own code.

Current focus: infrastructure for AI workloads, including GPU clusters, orchestration and model serving.

Employment History

Systems Engineer at OXKERN Current 2025 - Now
Designed and built real-time control and acquisition software in C++ on embedded Linux Implemented device integration over RS-485/Modbus and vendor-specific serial protocols; wrote custom protocol handlers and middleware connecting legacy machinery to modern control software Built fault handling for unattended edge deployments: retry, timeout, and failover for connection loss, malformed frames, and device failure Developed Qt/QML operator interfaces with 3D visualization and machine/job setup tooling Owned the build: CMake + Conan across development and target platforms Ran CI/CD with automated builds and tests, ASan/UBSan/TSan, and dependency vulnerability scanning; tested failure modes including device disconnects and degraded networks Introduced AI-assisted development for production machine-control code with explicit guardrails: project-specific agent skills and instructions encoding C++ coding standards, protocol invariants, and safe patterns; mandatory human review; restricted agent permissions; and merge gates on tests, sanitizers, and static analysis, with validation on the built-in simulator before anything touches hardware.
Sysadmin at Montemil Industrial Current 2025 - Now
Sole owner of on-prem infrastructure for an industrial manufacturing environment, from hardware to network to support. Administer Linux and Windows Server fleets: bare-metal servers, RAID, CIS-hardened baselines, and patching Run VMware vSphere/ESXi HA clusters (HA, vMotion, DRS) for production-critical workloads Segment industrial (OT) networks from corporate traffic with VLANs and MikroTik, and secure internal services with TLS/mTLS Automate provisioning and configuration as code with Ansible, Terraform, Python, and Bash Monitor hosts, storage, network, and industrial machines with Zabbix, Prometheus, and Grafana
