Constructor is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to design and build their Agent Products, focusing on developing and rigorously evaluating sophisticated RAG pipelines and agentic workflows for new shopping experiences.
The role involves architecting and building real-time agentic workflows to handle complex, multi-step user tasks and open-ended queries, providing users with accurate and contextually relevant answers and product suggestions.
Responsibilities include owning the end-to-end data lifecycle for AI workflows, designing metrics to evaluate query results, generating and prototyping novel product hypotheses, collaborating with various teams to translate AI capabilities into product features, and improving the speed, quality, and efficiency of AI systems.
The position requires taking ownership of systems and designs from conception through to deployment and maintenance.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 4+ years of industry experience in related fields such as search, information retrieval, recommendation systems, applied machine learning, and NLP.
Excellent skills in delivering and communicating business value are required.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and big data stack for end-to-end ML product development is necessary, along with experience working across the entire pipeline in typical recommendation systems or LLM-based solutions.
A strong grasp of Information Retrieval (IR) techniques, direct experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and experience building autonomous agents are essential.
Familiarity with automatic prompt optimization techniques, such as DSPy, is a plus.
A solid understanding of ML evaluation methodologies and key information retrieval metrics is required.
A passion for shipping high-quality products and a self-motivated drive to take ownership of tasks is essential.

The position offers a base salary range between $80k and $120k USD, varying based on knowledge, skills, experience, and interview results.
