• The engineer will collaborate with software engineers and platform teams to design, deploy, and operate AI-powered capabilities for Asteri’s core product.

• Responsibilities include designing and operating production-grade AI/ML systems, collaborating with engineers, deploying LLM-based applications, owning retrieval and agentic systems, defining evaluation and testing protocols, improving model performance, implementing engineering practices, staying current with AI advancements, and partnering with cross-functional teams.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience is required.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience in building production software is necessary.
• Candidates must have 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering and applied AI/ML development.
• Experience in deploying and operating ML or LLM-based systems in production environments is essential.
• A solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, model evaluation, and system-level tradeoffs is required.
• Experience with cloud-based deployment of ML systems is necessary.
• Strong software engineering skills, including systems design, testing, and performance optimization, are required.
• The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly is essential.
• Candidates should be comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with a senior engineering team.
