Description:
The position is for an Android Developer at Experian Consumer Services (ECS) Mobile Teams, which combines a start-up feel with experienced company work methodology.
The role involves owning end-to-end responsibility on projects of increasing complexity, from technical design through completion and deployment.
Responsibilities include participating in the full application lifecycle, writing clean and correct code, leading and mentoring other developers, and exercising good judgment in prioritizing tasks.
The developer will collaborate on API contracts, investigate and prototype new technologies, and foresee future changes to provide expandable and scalable solutions.
The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to present and defend technical choices persuasively.
The developer will also participate in cross-team engineering efforts to improve systems like code review and build pipelines.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of proven experience in Android application development and a deep understanding of the Android framework.
A strong background in implementing MVVM architecture in Android applications is necessary.
Familiarity with third-party libraries such as RxJava, Dagger, and Retrofit is required, along with experience consuming RESTful APIs.
Candidates should be comfortable working in a team environment following Agile methodology and understand Android UX.
Proficiency in writing Kotlin code for new development and experience in Java is essential.
Candidates should have the ability to learn different technology stacks as needed and understand how to mock and provide end-to-end coverage for API components.
Experience with large code bases, shared REST API libraries, and writing unit tests is required.
Adeptness at creating rich user interactions using Jetpack components and experience with offline storage, background processing, threading, and performance optimization is necessary.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment is essential.
