The Application Management Engineer will be responsible for responding to and resolving application-related incidents within agreed service levels, including performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term fixes.
They will monitor the performance and health of applications, using tools to identify and address issues proactively before they impact users.
Providing technical support to end-users, troubleshooting issues, and guiding them through problem-solving processes will be part of their responsibilities.
Collaborating closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure applications are aligned with business needs and meet service-level agreements.
Ensuring that applications comply with security standards and policies, including managing user access controls and performing security assessments.
Requirements:
Knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or Unix.
Basic knowledge of databases like SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
Familiarity with application servers like Apache, Tomcat.
Proficiency with ITSM tools and processes, such as ServiceNow Jira Service Management, and a solid understanding of ITIL practices for managing and delivering IT services.
Proficiency in German (B2/C1) and English, both written and spoken.
Nice to have: Hands-on experience with application deployment processes, including CI/CD pipelines, release management, with tools like Gitlab, Jenkins (CB Flow) ensuring smooth transitions from development to production.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Grafana, or similar.
