Frontify is seeking a Backend Engineer for the Developer Experience team to help brands turn ideas into impact.
The role involves collaborating with product managers, stakeholders, and fellow engineers to build and optimize a dynamic, scalable, and high-impact platform.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing hyperscaling solutions to third-party systems, building and refining API interfaces, and maintaining existing solutions.
The engineer will partner closely with product management, design, and engineering teams to develop viable product changes and will coach and mentor fellow engineers.
The position allows for remote work from anywhere in Switzerland or on-site in St. Gallen, with flexibility to mix work locations.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a deep understanding of API design, including RESTful and GraphQL, and best practices for structuring efficient, secure, scalable, and maintainable APIs.
Expertise in PHP is required, along with skills in architecting, designing, developing, and maintaining large software solutions.
Experience in building products for developers as customers is essential, with an understanding of their problems and needs.
Familiarity with frontend development, particularly with exposure to React, is necessary.
Candidates should be skilled in writing unit and integration tests, with a solid grasp of error handling, logging, and observability.
Experience in contract and interface definition is required to ensure consistent and maintainable code.
A collaborative mindset and a willingness to embrace feedback and continuous improvement are important.
