Kpler is seeking a Software Engineer – Backend & Data to join their product teams in Greece.
The role involves leading the design, development, and maintenance of robust back-end services and APIs for data-driven products.
Responsibilities include owning and operating workflows built with Apache Airflow, collaborating with data engineers on ETL pipelines, and implementing lightweight front-end changes as needed.
The engineer will optimize system performance and reliability across processing and delivery layers.
Participation in code reviews, proposing architecture improvements, and maintaining high engineering standards is expected.
Requirements:
Candidates should have 4–6 years of experience in backend or full-stack roles with exposure to data-intensive systems.
Strong proficiency in Python (preferred), Scala, or similar programming languages is required.
Experience in building APIs using frameworks like FastAPI or GraphQL is necessary.
Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools is essential.
Competence in writing SQL and working with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, is required.
Familiarity with front-end technologies such as Vue 3 and TypeScript/JavaScript is needed, with the ability to make minor UI changes.
Experience with Docker is required, and knowledge of Kubernetes is a plus.
Candidates should thrive on building scalable back-end systems and managing data flows, be comfortable owning production workflows, and take initiative when issues arise.
Fluency in English and the ability to work in a diverse, international team is necessary.
