Remote Big Data Engineer

Description:

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines for models, data, and AI workflows.
• Collaborate with data scientists on data modeling and storage across various database types.
• Write and maintain dbt models ensuring data quality and traceability.
• Instrument pipelines with logging and metrics; resolve production data issues.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and write clean, production-quality code.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and retrospectives.

Requirements:

• 3–8 years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Strong SQL skills for querying, transformation, and data modeling.
• Proficient in Python for ETL development and data processing.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and PySpark.
• Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines in enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with Python backend API frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django) is a plus.
• Experience with relational databases and data warehouse/lake platforms.
• Ability to implement data quality checks and troubleshoot pipelines.
