Remote Cloud Database Administrator

Description:

• Design, deploy, and maintain database systems within Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Research, implement, and maintain cloud automation and orchestration.
• Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks (indexing, query tuning, partitioning, data modeling).
• Optimize database deployments for Azure storage, networking, and security configurations.
• Build and maintain monitoring dashboards and alerts (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Automate schema migrations, backups, and cluster maintenance via CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead root-cause analysis for database incidents and drive remediation.
• Evaluate and implement strategies for scalability and growth.
• Maintain backup/restore strategies across SQL Server and Cassandra.
• Patch and upgrade systems; participate in 24x7 on-call rotation when needed.

Requirements:

• 5+ years SQL Server and Azure SQL administration, performance tuning, and architecture.
• 3–5+ years hands-on Cassandra (data modeling, cluster management, troubleshooting).
• Hands-on Azure ops: Azure SQL, VM-based SQL Server, Cassandra clusters, storage configuration, RBAC, Key Vault.
• Strong scripting: PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, cloud-native deployment patterns.
• Experience supporting high-traffic, customer-facing SaaS applications.
