The Data Center Energy Supply Lead will negotiate, contract, and oversee energy management strategies for large loads in the ERCOT and Southwest Power Pool regions.
The role requires a deep understanding of data center energy management, load registration, and regulatory experience at the state level.
Responsibilities include negotiating retail tariff agreements, managing large load setups, optimizing energy management contracts, and representing the company in regulatory matters.
The position involves collaboration with internal teams and clients to develop long-term energy strategies and maintain relationships with load-serving entities (LSEs) and regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Energy Management, Engineering, Finance, Data Science, or a related field is required.
An MBA or a Master's in Finance or Energy Systems is preferred.
Proven experience in managing large loads in the Texas and Southwest Power Pool regions is essential.
Extensive commercial experience with load and generation projects is required.
Expertise in market rules and regulatory policies governing energy management in relevant regions is necessary.
Strong understanding of energy markets, load forecasting, and energy efficiency technologies is required.
Project management experience is needed to meet project timelines and allocate resources effectively.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
Familiarity with software tools for energy management and regulatory reporting is required.
Leadership skills and the ability to negotiate contracts are necessary.
Benefits:
The salary ranges from USD $130,000 - $150,000 or CAD $187,000 – $216,000, with a target annual bonus of 40-50%.
