The Data Engineer III is responsible for managing and operating various tools including Tableau, Tableau bridge server, Databricks, Dbt, SSRS, SSIS, AWS DWS, AWS APP Flow, and PowerBI.
The engineer will work closely with customers and the team to manage and operate the cloud data platform.
Key responsibilities include resolving pipeline issues, proactive monitoring for sensitive batches, conducting root cause analysis (RCA), and documenting defects.
The engineer will design, build, test, and deploy fixes to the non-production environment for customer testing and work with customers to deploy fixes in production upon acceptance.
Responsibilities also include cost and performance optimization, audit and security management, and making necessary infrastructure changes.
The engineer will create and update knowledge bases and runbooks as needed for knowledge management.
Governance tasks involve monitoring configuration changes to batches and infrastructure, ensuring proper documentation, and aligning resources.
The engineer will act as a point of contact (POC) for customers, handling communication, escalation, isolating issues, and coordinating with off-site resources while managing stakeholder expectations.
Change management involves aligning resources for on-demand changes and coordinating with stakeholders as required.
The engineer will handle user requests, creating or updating runbooks as necessary.
Incident and problem management responsibilities include conducting root cause analysis and recommending preventive measures.
The role requires good hands-on experience with the specified tools and the ability to read and write SQL and stored procedures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, are essential.
The role requires the ability to work inclusively in small groups and prioritize issues while multitasking.
The position operates under moderate supervision.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 8-12 years of hands-on experience in configuring and managing Azure data analytics solutions.
Experience with the Azure environment is desired.
Candidates should possess good hands-on experience with Tableau, Tableau bridge server, Databricks, Dbt, SSRS, SSIS, AWS DWS, AWS APP Flow, and PowerBI.
The ability to read and write SQL and stored procedures is necessary.
