Description:
Bastion is seeking a Data Infrastructure Engineer to build and maintain critical data infrastructure.
The role involves creating ingestion, analysis, and reporting pipelines that support Bastion’s compliance and product offerings.
The engineer will collaborate with various teams, including compliance, legal, and finance.
Responsibilities include selecting appropriate technologies, managing vendor relationships, and promoting a data-driven culture.
The engineer will architect and build both real-time and batch data pipelines, ensuring data is ingested from various sources into the data warehouse.
Establishing strong security and privacy controls around sensitive data is also a key responsibility.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of professional engineering and data analytics experience, with startup experience being a plus.
Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for complex data analysis is required.
Recent experience in building automation tooling and pipelines using languages such as Python, Golang, and/or Typescript is necessary.
Familiarity with modern data pipeline and warehouse technologies like Snowflake, Databricks, Apache Spark, and AWS Glue is essential.
Candidates should have experience writing declarative data models and transformations using modern technologies such as dbt.
Experience in building and maintaining cloud-based data lakes is required.
Prior experience with integrating real-time data streaming technologies like Kafka and Spark is necessary.
Candidates should have experience configuring and maintaining modern data orchestration platforms such as Airflow.
Comfort with infrastructure-as-code tooling like Terraform and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes is required.
A strong preference for simplicity, speed, and avoiding overengineering is essential.
Candidates should be self-driven and able to work autonomously.
Professional experience in Web3 or Crypto is a plus.
