Remote Data Platform Engineering Lead

Description:

• Lead the technical direction of Glydways' data platform, balancing immediate delivery with long-term scalability.
• Develop analytics and data accessibility solutions for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure high standards of data quality, validation, governance, and observability.
• Mentor and grow a team of analytics and data engineers.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership on planning and prioritization.
• Work cross-functionally to support new data analytics workloads.
• Research and integrate advanced big data technologies.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Engineering, or related field.
• Management experience in building and leading engineering teams.
• Extensive experience with production data platforms and technical ownership.
• Proficiency in big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Hive).
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Argo Workflows).
• Knowledge of multi-language build systems (e.g., Bazel, CMake) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Expertise in Python, Shell, SQL, version control (e.g., Git), and configuration languages (e.g., YAML, CUE).
